A little while before I got this shot, the sun was a little bit higher, but more obscured by the clouds, so not nearly as bright. Just a an orange circle in the dark cloud. I couldn't get a good shot as it was pouring rain at the time.

I really felt like I was in one of those old stranger-on-another-planet sci-fi movies.

The rain slowed enough, so I stopped and got out the tripod.

Colcord Building

Colcord Building, originally uploaded by jasonbondy.

Built in 1909 by Charles F. Colcord who wanted a building that could withstand a disaster like the San Francisco quake and fire of 1906. The building was constructed of steel and reinforced concrete. The original plans by architect William Wells show a potential west wing that was never constructed. The building is located at 15 North Robinson, and is still used as an office building.

Oklahoma City weblinks

A couple of cool links I like lately.

Here is a clickable map of downtown with links to photos of the buildings. This site also features a vintage section with historical photos. Site by Doug Loudenback.
